Geranium flower

The Geranium flower is of the genus of pelargonium spp. This plant is classified as an herbaceous plant and its flowers grow as an inflorescence called Pleiocasio. The geranium flower blooms from spring to late summer, that is, from April to September and/or October.

The geranium not only dazzles in gardens as a decorative element, but also on the plate. This edible flower provides a very perfumed aroma, intense colours and velvety textures. Its flavor is vibrant and fruity; similar to the green apple and the rose.

Pairing

The geranium flower is perfect for the preparation of salty and sweet dishes, as it combines with meats, seafood, salads, desserts and even cocktails. We can use the geranium to fill with colour a simple salad, decorate a cake or give a different taste to a spanish tapa.

Medicinal properties

The geranium has a multitude of medicinal properties that we can use at home. It stands out for being antimicrobial. It is also decongestant and softener, which is why it is usually used for skin burns or even stretch marks and eczema.
