Description

Chrisanthemum flower

The chrysanthemum flower is commonly used as an ornamental plant for more than two thousand years. In the West, it is common to find these flowers in cemeteries because they are believed to be the symbol of a long life.

The chrysanthemum has many colours: garnet, yellow, pink and white. It seems to have been opened by a pop, that’s why it has the drawing shown when they grow. The size can also vary according to the time of year. The chrysanthemum flower has an herbaceous flavour and an intense aroma.

Pairing

But in addition, the leaf, the petals and the whole flower are used in the kitchen. The leaf of the chrysanthemums has a very strong flavor and it is apt, as the flower, for a sautéing or a steaming and the minimum dressing, as a bit of extra virgin olive oil and soy sauce. But they are also used to prepare some drinks. We love them in tequila cocktails.

You can also use the chrysanthemum to create visual impact or give an oriental touch.

The advantage of this edible flower is that it can be combined with any food: meat, seafood, desserts, cocktails, sauces… In addition, you can use both the whole flower or its petals in order to give color to a dish.

Medicinal properties

As for properties, this edible flower is commonly used in the composition of shampoos against lice. Regular consumption of chrysanthemum tea helps in the detoxification of the blood. In addition, it cures nasal congestion in a pleasant way. It helps regulate blood pressure and has relaxing action.
