Alyssum flower

The alyssum flower or also known as Lobularia maritima. It belongs to the Brasiliaceae family. The alyssum is an annual or perennial plant that blooms in warm places. This flower has a sweet, very captivating fragrance. The flower is small and it comes in bunches with petals with orbicular edges of blue, violet or white. It has a sweet taste with a strong smell of honey. The white flower has a more powerful smell.

Pairing

In cooking, it is common to find this edible flower in salads, meats and fish, but above all in desserts to boots the honey flavour. The flower of alyssum offers chefs a sweet and fresh flavour that gives the perfect touch to any recipe. Being a small flower gives the possibility of decorating dishes in a very delicate and subtle way.
